Extravagant Praise, according to the organisers, is a way of giving God something special, as he is the one that gave humans whatever they already have.

“In our lives, we work so hard to enjoy extravagance and opulence. But who gave us all we have? It’s God. So, who best deserves the most extravagant of our offering? CPC wants to give God extravagant praise.”

On why the event, which used to be held overnight after the first edition in 2014, held during the daytime, Mr. Peter Egbumokei the Executive Producer and Mr. Raphael Ezike Coordinator and Project Manager said: “Considering the security issues around, we don’t want to keep people out late. We plan to gradually adjust the time to flow with the realities on ground. Probably, we may not be having overnight events as we had done before now.”

The day was heralded by a holy Mass, officiated by the Parish Priest of Catholic Church of Resurrection (CCOR), Rev. Fr. Paul Bastos, who also led the opening prayer before Project Fame’s Benneth Ogbeiwi and talented, Stephanie Vincent-Otiono of Flat Mates mounted the stage to anchor the concert.

Gift Christopher (alias Minister GUC) led the ministration with St. Cecilia Choir Unilag, Voice of Angels Choir Mafoluku, Fada Fuji, Kelar Thrillz, Moses Audu, Clenz, Defix crew, Princess Abiola, Baby Jesus, Man of Praise, DjXmoe and Princess Judith who gave us a beautiful rendition of the Divine Mercy prayer (a popular Catholic prayer said by 3pm and 3am which is believed to be the hour of Mercy).

The concert came to a close by past 7pm and was followed up with a beautiful movie night and picnic by the host parish CCOR.
