Driving Everyday in Lagos is Killing You

I have been thinking of the health implications of daily driving in Lagos, and how this city is killing its own in installments.

Maybe you've not heard of the saying that sitting is the new smoking meaning that your health can get messed up as smoking does just by sitting. But the worst form of sitting is commuting.

And there are very few places on earth that competes with Lagos in notoriety when it comes to crazy traffic.

Every morning as I drive out, I see people dozing behind the steering wheels because most of them got home few hours before. I watch women apply make-up, shouting at kids at the back seat, while still navigating traffic. Many have their breakfast and dinner while driving.

We Came From The Womb And Going To The Tomb

 

This morning got me thinking of where Man came from and where Man will return, I observe that Man came from the WOMB and will return to the TOMB and they are the same the only different is the W and T.

A real value of our lives is in how we use our time as we journey from the womb to the tomb. A great difference between the womb and the tomb is the 'W' and the 'T' which I term "WASTED TIME"

We waste great and precious time as we journey from the womb to the tomb; in the end, we remember the w and the t in a simple statement of regret, 'had I known'! The wasted time!
